Telehealth Resources at Your Fingertips

Illinois Broadband Resources

Illinois Department of Commerce – Connect Illinois

“Connect Illinois seeks to achieve what no other state or federal approach to date has accomplished: ubiquitous statewide broadband access – for homes, businesses, and community anchor institutions throughout the state. At the same time, Connect Illinois will promote digital literacy, adoption, and inclusion while leveraging investment in new broadband infrastructure to spur advances in such areas as economic development, education, precision agriculture, and telehealth.”

See the website for information about connecting with low-cost broadband and digital equity resources.

University of Illinois Urbana‐Champaign - Community Broadband Development

“Illinois Extension’s Local Government Education (LGE) program partners with the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity’s Illinois Office of Broadband and the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society, in free and publicly accessible outreach aimed to extend critical high-speed internet access across the state.”

See the Illinois Extension website for program updates and more information.

Chicago Connected – Chicago Public Schools

“Chicago Connected is a groundbreaking program that provides no-cost, high-speed internet service to CPS students and their families. This first-of-its-kind program will be one of the largest efforts by any city to provide internet access for students.

Through partnerships with businesses, community groups, governments and philanthropic organizations, Chicago Connected is responding to an opportunity to eliminate a barrier to digital learning that disproportionately hurts the city’s low‐income families and students of color.”

See the Chicago Public Schools website for more information – the program is expected to continue through July 1, 2024.
